Wat geweest is, is geweest: Een ode aan Boudewijn de Groot en Lennaert Nijgh

It has been more than twenty years since Lennaert Nijgh, the beloved lyricist of Boudewijn de Groot, among others, passed away. The Amsterdam singer Jan-Paul van Spaendonck was good friends with him. He sang at his funeral, and was also present when the Lennaert Nijgh festival was organized in Haarlem in 2013, on the occasion of Nijgh’s tenth death anniversary.
To commemorate the Haarlem “singer with paper and pen”, Van Spaendonck, in collaboration with his son Martijn and the Zaanse singer Jenny van de Wateringen, has put together a program with their personal choice of the most beautiful songs by Lennaert and Boudewijn. He will also read fragments from the many impressive and often hilarious letters that Lennaert wrote to him during the years of their friendship.
