Songsmith Tim Knol broke through as a musician at a young age. He performed at Pinkpop and Lowlands and was embraced by the press, but also came up against himself a few times. Fortunately, he was young enough to crawl out of the pit he had fallen into and he converted his experiences into music. Tim shared his joys and sorrows with the listener, who grew with him and thus gained a very personal insight into the musician’s psyche.
For his new album Long Live Your Friends he made extensive use of demo recordings on his phone, recorded at home, in dressing rooms, on stage or on the road. Often these consisted of little more than a melody and a few chords. With the help of friend and producer Sam Verbeek, these demos were developed into the full-fledged songs that would eventually form the new album. Will you come and listen to the end result?
