Maartje en Kine – In Concert

  • Saturday 2 November, 20:15 – 21:30 hour

Maartje & Kine are two Norwegian-Dutch multi-instrumentalists with dry humor and energetic and infectious live shows. They are as crazy about Mariah Carey as they are about the ritual singing of the overtone-singing Mongols. The duo excels in the combination of classical and ultra-modern music. Their performances are humorous and moving. Virtuoso and delightfully flat. Together they play more than twenty instruments, including the banjo, violin, piano, accordion, balalaika, musical saw, autoharp and nose flute.

In Concert is a varied musical program, specially composed for playing at special locations.

You may know these stage animals from the NTR documentary “Maartje & Kine Buigen Niet” – about their road trip to Norway during corona time. Maartje & Kine are famous for their “Mini Concerts for Singles” and their performances at Tijd voor Max, Top 2000 a gogo and Opium on Oerol. They perform at Podium Klassiek and for pop lovers at Lowlands, Zwarte Cross and Paaspop.

The press wrote about Maartje & Kine:

  • “Unparalleled musically funny” (***** Theater Paradise)
  • “Beautiful singing and the most impressive pieces of music” (Theatrekrant)
  • “An hour and a half of pure enjoyment” (I Love Theater)
  • “Both two-part and harmonious in vocal performances, they are dazzlingly skilled on various instruments, the violin and the grand piano, a recorder, the banjo, accordion and bass balalaika.” (Jacques D’Ancona)
