Eric Vloeimans & Jörg Brinkmann

  • Saturday 5 April, 20:15 – 22:15 hour

The world of Vloeimans is big! He plays with major orchestras such as the Marinierskapel and Holland Baroque, with the ensembles Gatecrash and HOTSPOT! and also in smaller line-ups with his trios Levanter and Oliver’s Cinema.

Vloeimans’ favorite line-ups also include the duo formation, in which the intimate, atmospheric aspects of his music come into their own – as convincingly demonstrated in his duos with harpist Remy van Kesteren, flamenco guitarist Eric Vaarzon Morel, accordionist Will Holshouser and pianist Juan Pablo Dobal.

A musician with whom Vloeimans feels closely connected is the German improviser Jörg Brinkmann, an all-rounder on his cello. He bows, picks, and even plays ‘guitar’ on it. He also knows how to create rich soundscapes and grooving loops with the help of electronics, which are created on the spot. Since Vloeimans & Brinkmann met each other through Composer Laureate Martin Fondse, they have often worked together. In their new program, both musicians combine their own work with compositions by Ennio Morricone and the legacy of Charles Aznavour.
